Know About
Nature Club

Nature club of St. Xavier’s college actively engages the students of all departments in various activities. The club activities encourage the students to be eco friendly. It also helps them to make an impact among other students in the college to be committed to conserving and maintaining biodiversity.

Preservation of nature is the utmost aim of each and every individual. A pollution free environment is essential for all living beings. The advancement of science and technology made our young generation least concerned about nature. Nature club was formed to sensitize, motivate and educate students about environment and conservation. The students should understand the value of nature and different environmental problems.

Nature club decided to maintain a plastic free campus throughout the academic year.

Students and teachers from all departments were allowed to participate in the competition. A suggestion box was kept to drop the names. Participants were given seven days time from 13/6/2022 to 20/6/2022 to drop their entries. Various names were suggested by students of different departments. Farhana P, of second semester sociology was selected as the winner. The suggested name was Kissah, which meant stories. The name suited well with the ambience of the spot and served its purpose as students and teachers always gathered here to spend their leisure time.

The place was decided to be named as ‘Kissah, a place to share your stories’. The winner was awarded Rs 500 as prize money. It was handed over to her on 29/6/2022 by vice Principal Fr. Johnson.
