Academics

The Department of English had its inception in the year 2012 with 14 students and Post-Graduation was started in 2015. Now the department functions with nearly 170 students and 11 teachers. The Department of English has been endeavoring to provide the students a firm grounding in English studies in a very congenial atmosphere. Students aspiring to obtain a degree in Functional English and a post graduate degree in literature in English get introduced to all the important aspects of literature written in English. The teaching activity of the Department extends to other departments with the teaching of English and Communication skills to students of other departments as well.  We have a team of dedicated and competent teachers who are quite accessible to students.  We also have a well-equipped Language Lab where students can hone their skills in spoken English. The English Department is committed to enhancing the intellectual and cultural lives of its students, its faculty, and the citizens of the region. Through high-quality instruction, research, and service, it works to sustain a deep level of critical and creative thinking about literature and the world and to encourage habits of mind that serve as the foundation for a variety of future careers
